Kefi would like to express its sincere apology to anyone who felt slighted or was unhappy with our live entertainment in recent weeks. Particularly the "Pretty Lights" show on labor day weekend. Steps have been taken and people were let go to ensure that we provide the best experience for our customers. Kefi would also like to say that no show will ever be "over crowded" and advance ticket holders will always come first. Kefi prides itself as being one of the best music venues in Wilmington and we will work hard at providing the best atmosphere for your listening and dancing pleasure. Dragon Seeks Path
10:00:00 PM - 2:00:00 AM

Where to begin?...from ancient to Baroque, from Classical to Modern, we respect and borrow from all, just like any great composer should and would. Favorites include: Dream Theater, Racer X, Symphony X, Planet X, Derek Sherinian, ArK, Megadeth, (old)Metallica, Alice in Chains, Pantera, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Zakk Wylde, Stone Temple Pilots, Steve Vai, Guns-n-Roses, Boston, and of course, Color Me Badd...Just kidding.DSP began to form in the drumline at East Carolina University in 2001, with intentions of composing a broad spectrum of styles from latin and jazz fusion to state-of-the-art progressive metal. The name was derived from a quote in the Bruce Lee film "Return of the Dragon." It represents the progressive thinker's inner beast seeking the next level of enlightenment. We strive to use these principles to reach new levels of improvement in our playing and writing. After changing singers and bassists multiple times, we have decided to move our home base to Wilmington, NC in search of serious musicians who are seeking a similar path. The only way to survive in Greenville as a musician is to play covers, which we have proven capable, and we have more to offer than playing what has been written. So, as we begin to turn the tides from all-cover, to all-original set lists, there is no doubt that our journey has only just begun.

Notorious Gringos
10:00:00 PM - 2:00:00 AM

Texas music. So what is Texas music? Well, Gary Hartman has a great book titled “The History of Texas Music”. Short of reading that, it can be described this way: Texas music is truly unique. Spanning a broad array of genres, including blues, gospel, ragtime, jazz, conjunto, Tejano, country, zydeco, cajun, rock and roll, and many others, Texas music, perhaps better than anything else, reflects the rich history and tremendous ethnic and cultural diversity of the Southwest. It fits into no category, it’s seldom played on radio stations outside the southwest, and it’s a true American art form. The members of the band all have connections to Texas (either from there, work there, family’s there, heart’s there, or been thrown out of there) so we were compelled to play Texas Music. So we formed our band from a couple – three local bands (deadnotes, backatcha, and Stowes Bluegrass) and began writing music and playing our songs wherever people would listen. Spreading Texas music or, as we like to call it, “doin’ the Lords work”. We’ve performed from Carolina Beach, NC to “The Devil’s Backbone Highway Tavern”. From GA to Minnesota. In March of 2009, the band traveled to Fort Worth, Texas to cut our debut album “Wrong Side of Good”. Texas singer/ songwriter Phil Pritchett produced, engineered, and arranged the record at Trinidad World Recording. The result is the true Texas sound that Phil Pritchett is famous for. Give it a spin at our website. We’ll be out this year playing and promoting the album so stop by and see us.

Billy Holton and the Soul Shakers
10:00:00 PM - 2:00:00 AM

Billy Holton has been playing music his whole life and has honed his craft of Lead Guitar to a fine tuned machine. His band mates are well accomplished musicians in their own right. Bob Seinkevic is a 5 year Graduate of the Berkley School of Music and plays bass, Gary Nickel is an established career drummer, Chris Danials on rhythm guitar, and Mark Hoff is the lead vocalist. All together they make up The Soul Shakers!! They are prepared to get you dancing to soul, funk, classic rock, and beach music until the wee hours of the night. They are considered one of the best bands in south east North Carolina and hail out of New Bern. They often play for crowds of 500-800 people in their neck of the woods, so lets show them how we get down here in Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington!!

Honey Island Swamp Band
10:00:00 PM - 2:00:00 AM

We started the Honey Island Swamp Band in the fall of 2005 after Hurricane Katrina left us high and dry but far from home in San Francisco. We’d worked together in New Orleans bands for years, but with no prospects of getting home any time soon, we thought we’d better cook up something new, and quick. A few days later we’d put together a song list, landed a weekly gig, and settled in to share a little taste of southern culture with our new west coast neighbors. Thanks to those good folks in California, we made it through the lean times, had ourselves a good time, and made it back home in what seems like hardly no time at all. We hope you’ll enjoy listening to the Honey Island Swamp Band as much as we love playing in it.

Crow Field
9:00:00 PM - 2:00:00 AM

It's a clean slate and bright future for pianist Joe Giant and singer/guitarist Tyler Mechem. The two Charleston songsmiths recently changed their band name, assembled a solid collection of radio-ready original material, and expanded their sound from a straight-ahead modern alternative-rock style to a more atmospheric and romantic Americana/rock thing. Working diligently across Charleston over the last three years, Giant and Mechem gradually built a following in the club scene under the name "Bell" (a.k.a. "bell."). As a versatile rock/groove duo and with various backing lineups, they established themselves with a danceable, piano-powered blend of what they called "rock, soul, and traces of gospel and jazz." With ease, they could jam on a cool riff, deliver a complex reworking of a classic rock standard, or dish out funky grooves to appease drunks in the audience. In 2006, they released a fairly lo-fi, five-song EP titled Rose Garden & a .45, recorded in Indiana at Sweetwater Studios with producer Chris Liepe. Rough around the edges, it demonstrated plenty of technique, Giant's rollicking piano work, nasty funk chops, and clever dynamics. For their most recent studio adventures, they spent serious time and effort in an Atlanta studio with acclaimed producer Rick Beato (known for his work with S.C. bands I-Nine, needtobreathe, and Jump), who agreed to release the 10-song collection Goodbye, Goodnight, So Long Midwestern on a start-up indie label called Ten Star Records. With a lineup to match the new moniker, they celebrate the official release of a solid debut full-length this week. Band's Website
